Your Fur Stool in many Variations
To make your fur stool fit perfectly in your home, we offer many variations of colors and also different fur to cover your stool seat with. You can choose between three different kinds of sheepskin. The most common sheepskin is merino fur from New Zealand. It is a very robust and shiny fur with a wool length of 5-8 cm. Merino fur is from excellent quality and very durable. We offer it in 10 different colors that vary from black and dark brown tones to the natural white. Choose between warm sand or elegant steel and make your fur stool an organic part of your living area.
If you prefer a seat cover with longer wool you can choose between Icelandic and Tibetan sheepskin. Their main difference is that Icelandic sheepskin has naturally straight wool while sheepskin from Tibet has fine, curly wool that looks extraordinary charming, especially on a stool. Icelandic sheepskin is up to 20 cm long and thus quite heavy but perfectly suited to sit on. It feels almost a bit rough and looks wild and untamed – just like the nature of Iceland. It comes only in natural colors, which are either black, white or a spotted version with both or a warm brown that varies to light caramel shades or the very rare grey version. Sheepskin from Tibet is finer and lighter even though the curly wool is also quite long: up to 15 cm. The charming curls usually stand up a bit what gives the fur some extra volume and makes it look very cozy and inviting. The natural color of Tibetan sheepskin is white but we additionally also have a selection of various dyed colors so you can find the perfect one for your home. And if you cannot decide between two of them, well, no worries, you can just change the seat cover whenever you feel like.
What do I need to know about Sheepskin Care?
The first thing you need to know is that sheepskins are natural products that do some of the care work themselves. The wool has a natural protection against dirt and bacteria. It does not need to be washed; it actually would take harm from being washed. It is thus important to keep the seat cover dry but not too close to direct heat. If the sheepskin was dyed, you should also keep it away from direct sunlight since that would affect the color. The best care for a sheepskin is to be shaken out regularly. In order to do this, you can take the seat cover off the stool. It gives the sheepskin some air and loosens eventually matted wool. If your sheepskin has straight wool, you can also brush it from time to time. We do not recommend to do this treatment to curly wool since it destroys the curls. As you can see, when it comes to sheepskin care there are more things you should avoid to do than things you need to do. If you take care of all those tips, your fur stool will look brand new for a very long time.
What are your Ethical Considerations on Fur?
We from NATURES Collection challenge ourselves to offer you products that last for a lifetime. That means you buy your fur stool once and will never have to replace it. This is how we understand sustainable consumption and our responsibility as an actor in global trade. Furthermore, we are not compromising when it comes to quality, not only because it ensures that your sheepskin will last a lifetime but also because high quality fur is the best indicator for the animal’s welfare. Happy sheep have good fur, so when you feel your soft and shiny sheepskin, you will know that the sheep had a good live. Sustainability goes for us through every step of fur production and we thrive to find better and better solutions to offer you sustainable products of high quality to an affordable price.
