They keep you warm and comfortable when you get out of your bed in the morning, sit at your desk during the day, have dinner with your family in the evening or enjoy a movie from your couch later at night. The sheepskin rug is your supporting friend, always there for you to make your everyday life as cozy as possible.
What kinds of sheepskin rugs do you have?
We have a big selection of single sheepskins and some popular sheepskins in versions that are sewed together to larger rugs. A big amount of our sheepskins comes from New Zealand. The Merino sheepskin is from a very high quality and amazing comfort. It is available in a long-wool and in a short-wool version. The long-wool version is very shiny and soft and perfect for people who love to cuddle into their sheepskin. The short-wool version with its tiny curls has a different feel but is also soft and cozy and easier to keep clean from dust.
Merino sheepskin is tanned in a certain way so it can be dyed afterwards. Therefore, we can offer it in many different colors so every taste will find its perfect match in our selection. Some of the colors come also in bigger versions where two, four or even six or eight sheepskins are sewed together to a large rug. So there is also a sheepskin rug for every spot in your home: it can lie on your favorite chair, on your bed, your couch or in the floor in for instance your living-room or in front of your bed.
Also very popular are our sheepskins from Tibet. Their very unique charming look with the long curly wool is amazing in different colors – and we offer more than 20! The curls are incredible soft and invite your fingers to run through them again and again. Tibetan sheepskin is rather light and fine and fits therefore perfectly on fragile furniture. You can choose between a standard and a longer size to make it fitting no matter how tall your chair is where you might want to put it.
Do you have sheepskins in natural colors?
We have a number of sheepskins that are so beautiful and unique in their natural colors that we would never want to dye them. Icelandic sheepskin, for instance is naturally white, black, brown, spotted or in rare cases even grey. Its extraordinary long wool feels a bit coarse but cozy and perfect to cuddly after a long day. Who prefers shorter wool will also find a short wool version where the play of colors appears in a different but nevertheless charming way.
Another spotted version comes from Austria. While Icelandic sheepskin is spotted in black and white the Austrian color mix is a bit browner. There is also a fully white or dark version. Austrian sheepskin is curly and looks therefore a little bit wild like it was literally just taken out of a beautiful mountainous landscape in Austria.
Very rare but incredible beautiful is Gotlandic sheepskin from Sweden. It comes in different shades of grey with elegant curls that give a wonderful feel and are from extraordinary quality. The rarity of this kind of sheep is responsible for the higher price but if you worship the unique optical appearance and amazing quality that price is absolutely worth it.
What more do I need to know about your sheepskins?
When you choose between our sheepskins you might consider that those that are dyed cannot lie in the direct sunlight. So if you want for instance a sheepskin for outside, we suggest you to choose one in a natural color. If you want the Tibetan or New Zealandic sheepskin you can choose the white version which is not dyed. The reason why we suggest not to put dyed sheepskins into the sunlight is, that the sunlight will either bleach out or change the color.
If you are wondering about the care a sheepskin needs, be aware that sheepskins are natural products which have the ability to keep themselves clean. It is not necessary and can in most of the cases even be harmful to wash them in the machine or by hand. Having that said, it is a good idea to shake the sheepskin out regularly and to brush it (if it does not have curly wool). Stains on it can usually be removed with a damp cloth, just take care here that the leather does not get wet. If nothing happens to your sheepskin, it is enough care to shake it out regularly.
If you have more questions about sheepskin care, we have collected all information in this page.
The last thing you should consider is that sheepskin is a product that lasts for a lifetime with the right treatment. So you buy it once and never have to replace it again. By making sure that sheepskins are bought for a lifetime we fulfill what we understand as our responsibility, being part of the global sheepskin production. We are aware that sheepskins are not like any other living product: they are animal products and thus to be treated with a different respect and consciousness.
