You can use your sheepskin throw mostly in the living room on your couch or in the bedroom. However, there will be plenty of opportunities to use it: a soft sheepskin is always a nice companion to cozy up with. Even in summer you might need it when you sit outside in the late evening and enjoy a summer night with friends. We have sheepskin throws in different sizes so you can find the right one that fits perfectly on your couch, bed or armchair. The throws and plaids are soft and light and thus easy to fold for when you are not using them. Not only are they very soft and cozy, they also look beautiful, laying on your couch, bed or chair and make your home inviting and charming. In this way, your sheepskin throw is not only a practical companion for relaxing hours but also a beautiful accessories for your home.
Our throws and plaids are made out of the exquisite Tibetan sheepskin. It is a very beautiful sheepskin with its fine and curly wool of approximately 15 cm length. The smaller plate has a size of 60x120 cm and is therefore just big enough to cover your legs when you are sitting outside or at your desk. You can also wrap it around your shoulders or around your feet to keep yourself warm. In your bedroom, it looks especially nice when thrown over the bottom end of your bed. The bigger sheepskin throw has a size of 140x180 cm so you can cover yourself completely with it while you watch a movie or relax on your bed. Or you can even invite a second person under your throw. To find the perfect sheepskin throw for your home, you can choose between different colors. You also can choose between a version with and one without backing. The sheepskin throw with backing is covered by a polyester fabric on the back which is dyed in the same color as the sheepskin. The sheepskin throw is sewed together out of pieces that were left over during the production of other sheepskin products but due to the textile backing this is invisible. The throw does not only look like it was made out of one piece, you can also hardly feel it.
We have one sheepskin throw that is not made out of Tibetan but New Zealandic sheepskin. Merino sheepskin from New Zealand has a very high quality with its robust, shiny wool. For the sheepskin throw, it is shortened to nearly 1 cm but still straightened and thus soft. Four of the sheepskins are sewed together to a size of 180x110 cm. With its natural shape it looks very charming on the top of a bed. But you can of course also use it on a couch, bench or chair; wherever you need it. You can even lay it on the floor as a rug. Especially when you work from home and sit all day at your desk, it can get quite chilly. Then it is nice to wrap your legs in a cozy sheepskin throw that covers all your body – well, except your arms which you probably need while you are working.
What do I need to know about Sheepskin Care for my Throw?
One principle rule for sheepskin care is that sheepskins are natural products so they take care of themselves to a certain extent. They have a natural protection against dirt and bacteria so you normally do not need to wash them. Even if you consider to wash your sheepskin because it has a stain, we would strongly recommend you not to do it because it heavily affects the leather. Rather remove a stain with a damp cloth or with a brush if it is already dry. The best thing you can do for your sheepskin throw is to shake it out regularly and keep it in a dry spot that is not too close to the radiator or another source of heat. Dyed sheepskins should also be kept away from direct sunlight to make sure the color does not fade or change. We generally do not recommend you to brush Tibetan sheepskin because the curls would disappear with this treatment. So you only need to find the right spot for your sheepskin throw and shake it out to keep it in an optimal shape for many years.

Ethical Considerations on Fur
The reason why we want to explain you how to take care of your sheepskin throw is that we want you to enjoy it for a lifetime. We stand for a consumerism where you buy a product one time and then ideally never have to replace it again. We stand against a waste culture with replaceable goods with strategic expiration dates. This is why we count on products that are 100% natural and from the highest quality we can find. Fortunately, high quality is directly related to animal welfare; happy sheep have the most beautiful fur. So two of our most important principles go hand in hand together. To encounter an overproduction of fur, we also only sell fur that was produced as a by-product of meat production. We believe that no animal should be killed just because of its fur but since animals are killed all over the world for meat production their products should all be used.
